With TNT Custom Websites, Dentists Become Heavyweight Marketing Champs

Monday, November 30th, 2009

bouldenThe ADA says that about half of US dentists have lost revenue and patients throughout the year. Less revenue means less advertising, but less advertising means fewer patients, and fewer patients means less revenue. It’s a vicious cycle. What if you could take your little website and turn it into a marketing machine that packs a knockout punch? With a little help from your friends at TNT Dental, you can!

Let’s look at this website as an example. Atlanta Dental Spa knows how to work the online marketing machine. You’ve got Facebook and Twitter accounts on the top right corner of the banner. Move down a bit, and you have an eye-catching Flash presentation that showcases the doctor’s awards and services. From there, we move left to right on the main portion of the webpage to see a small sampling of the before-and-after gallery, a CNN video of the doctor, and then we have an email response form on the right. Got a question? You don’t even have to move down the homepage to contact the dentist directly.

What’s the big deal with these features, you ask? Here’s the rundown: (more…)

Facebook for Dental Marketing: 10 Questions and Answers

Monday, October 26th, 2009

shutterstock_37598182To celebrate yet another makeover for Facebook homepages, we’re dedicating this blog to ten tips dentists should know about kicking off – and maintaining – a great Facebook page. Keep in mind, the goal we’re shooting at is using Facebook as a form of social media to boost traffic to your dental practice’s website.

What is Facebook?
Facebook is a website that allows registered users to digitally link up with other registered users. The point? Sharing and getting information from people – ie: networking.

What does Facebook cost?
Facebook is free, as are Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg, and other social networking sites. However, you really need a good, custom website if you’re going to make any dental marketing campaign a success – particularly a campaign that involves social networking. (more…)

How Dentists’ Websites Rank Well on Google

Monday, September 28th, 2009

search-webYou’ve heard that you need a custom dental website. You’ve heard that you need search engine optimization. Maybe you’ve heard that a blog would help you bring in new patients from the Internet. But how does all this work? How can your website show up at the top on Google?

First of all, no one can promise that your website will be in the first or second position on Google. That’s a lie. However, your site can do well and might even reach the first few positions if a strategic plan is put in place – and maintained – to achieve that goal.

Secondly, you need to know a few definitions…

SEO – Search Engine Optimization; SEO is the strategy that makes sites rank well online. A website’s words, graphics, layout, links, bolding, headings, etc. work on the frontend of the site for SEO, while code, submissions, and other features work on the backend. Front- and backend SEO must be addressed to truly have a good strategy.

SERPs – Search Engine Results Pages; This refers to the list that comes up when you type in terms into Google or another search engine. At the top of a Google SERP, you’ll see Google Maps listings. Those are free! Read more here. Beneath the maps, the “organic” listings begin. On the right, the “pay-per-click” listing appears. (more…)

Dentists Want to Know: What is Web 2.0?

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Web 2.0 (noun): User-centered web design that promotes and facilitates interactivity from users.shutterstock_36187810

Huh?

It’s all about WIKI, social networking, social media, blogs, podcasts, videos, and… Let’s break it down a bit.

You’re probably familiar with Wikipedia – “the free encyclopedia” online. Wiki is actually an acronym: WIKI = What I Know Is. On Wikipedia, anyone can add content. This is good and bad. You can’t rely on Wikipedia as an accurate source of information 100% of the time, but the information presented there can help kick off research by providing a general overview of a topic and sources for more information.
