Dr. Ted Dunson andthe Southridge Dental team are now the proud owners of an exquisitely designed custom website by TNT Dental (if we do say so ourselves). A true reflection of the family and cosmetic dental practice, the new website features warm, inviting colors and beautiful photography. Denton, Texas dental patients who visit the site will immediately see the practice’s front door and can access scheduling information with the click of a button. In the near future, patient forms will be available for download, which will save time for patients and the front office team.
Thanks, Dr. Dunson, for choosing TNT Dental. We appreciate your business and look forward to expanding your website right along with your practice!
Sincerely,
The TNT Dental Team
& Jill Nastasia, Your Website Expert!

There has been a big question about whether Twitter and Facebook benefit a dentist’s marketing efforts. While the effects of social networking are yet to be accurately measured, we can say with certainty that blogging (done right) helps search engine optimization – for a dentist or any other business. If you aren’t blogging, you should be.

You’ve probably heard that linking is good for SEO rankings. Truth is, incoming links are good if they’re relevant. Incoming links from great, relevant sites can be awesome. Outgoing links don’t help you much, and they really only benefit your users from a functionality standpoint. You may have also heard about Google Maps. It is important to claim your Google Maps listing if you’ve not already done so. Here are 5 TRUE TIPS for marketing your dental website and improving your SEO strategy:
1. Establish good incoming links.
A little legwork may be required. Sending emails requesting to swap links with folks you don’t know probably won’t help much. Instead, focus on those you do know. Your colleagues in other cities (non-competitive), specialists and labs with whom you work, and dental organizations are good sources for link swapping. Simply contact the webmaster (or your personal contact), and request a link swap. They’ll post your site’s link on their sites, and you’ll do the same for them. Be sure to follow up! After you post their links on your site, see if they’ve reciprocated as promised. (more…)

Why Dental Websites Need Blogs
- Blogs are the modern newsletter, so a blog will make you look more tech savvy.
- Blogs are indexed by search engines more quickly than web pages, so they are great for SEO.
- Blogs are personal journal entries from you to your patients, so they make you seem genuine, real, and interested.
- Blogs allow you and your team to communicate important oral health education, then index it to build a reference library of original articles.
- A blog can be your springboard into Internet marketing and networking online.

An “Ask the Doctor” form and a blog on your website will indeed set you up for giving away free advice. And why would someone buy the cow if he could get the milk for free? If the milk is sweet and refreshing, full of nutrients, and better than any other milk, the dude is gonna want the cow. Right?
What is “Ask the Doctor?”
This is a form that patients can complete on your website if they have specific questions for you. If you have time to respond, at least once every 48 hours, to the inquiries, this form can be beneficial to your marketing strategy. TNT offers interactive forms, including a patient survey and appointment request, with the platinum website package.
What is a blog?
Blog is short for “web log.” In business, a blog replaces or complements a newsletter. Search engines index blog posts with higher priority than traditional web pages. So, if you want to be found for “Dallas porcelain veneers dentist,” blog about it. Check out other TNT Tips posts for ideas on blog topics and composition. If you don’t have time to blog, but you like the concept, call TNT to ask about GhostPosts.
Why give away info online instead of getting patients in the door first? (more…)

If your practice has seen revenue drop, you may be considering marketing cutbacks. It’s a catch 22 – cutting back on marketing could mean less business, but with less business, you have to cut back somewhere. Marketing feels expendable to some degree.

If you do not have a dental website, get one. “Why,” you ask? Here are three great reasons:
- Your ideal pateints – the folks with money to spend on their dental health and appearance - use the Internet, not the phone book, to find services.
- You will be surprised at the return on investment for a well-optimized website that accurately reflects your dental practice.
- Websites aren’t like print marketing. If you start a new promotion, earn a certification, or purchase technology that you want to market, just add it to your site any time. TNT Dental websites are created to grow with a dental practice. Updating your website is literally as simple as sending an email to the TNT support team.

If you follow technology, or even if you just read this blog, you should know that “blog” has replaced “newsletter” for tech-savvy dentists. With a newsletter, you can outsource your content. You subscribe to a publication, a company creates the piece, then plugs your name in, prints, then mails – and whabam – all done. Easy peasy lemon squeezie, right? But with print newsletters, you pay for paper, printing, and postage. It’s quite an expense. Cha-ching. No one needs that in this economy!
Some practices create their own newsletters, which can be great if the dentist has a talented writer and editor on staff – and that writer and editor has extra time to devote to creating the content, laying out the design, finding the photos, and printing the newsletter. Don’t forget about distributing the newsletter via snail mail or e-mail.
If you opt for an e-mail the newsletter, be prepared to deal with with spam filters, bounce-backs, and unsubscribe requests. Maintaining an email list can be a real headache. You can hire it out, but again… cha-ching.
Let’s just get down to it. Here are the pros and cons: (more…)
