• What is a domain name? What is a URL?
- A domain name is the “www.” address for your website. For instance, TNT’s domain name is www.TNTDental.com. URL stands for uniform resource locator, and it also means a web address.
• How do I get a domain name?
- You can call TNT Dental and speak with Laura in our support department (877-868-4932 x109). She can secure a domain name for you.
• What if I already own a domain name?
- We will need your login and password in order to use your current domain. It’s a good idea to use a domain that’s been around a while, so don’t give up on it! We can help you find out who to contact about your domain login information by doing a little research for you. Call Laura for assistance.
• Can I choose my own domain name?
- Absolutely. You can go to www.GoDaddy.com and type in domain names you like to see if they are available for purchase. We will be happy to secure the domain(s) for you.
• What should I consider when choosing a name for my website?
- If you have no plans to sell the practice in the future, using your name “drsmith.com” can work well. If you have no plans to move your practice, the location can also work well – “denverdentist.com.” We can
• Do I need more than one?
- You don’t need more than one domain name for a single website, but if you’d like to purchase multiples, we can redirect the secondary domains to your main website.
Email Accounts
• Does a TNT Dental website come with email?
- Yes. We will be happy to set up your email accounts after securing your domain name.
• Can I choose my own email addresses?
- Yes! Simply send us a list of the addresses you’d like us to create.
• How many email accounts can I have?
- As many as you like.
• How can I check my website’s email?
- We can show you how to check your email accounts through webmail.com, or we can help you set them up on Outlook.
